Bochra Triki

ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE:

Multidisciplinary researcher, curator and artist, Bochra Triki (they/she) experiments with different artistic propositions, connecting them with intersectional feminisms, queer rights and social justice. They co-organized Chouftouhonna, the international feminist art festival of Tunis, directed sound documentaries with Inkyfada Podcast and co-curated the 2022 edition of Tashweesh festival. Bochra is currently focusing on projects that are more organic and grass-root organized, such as Mixed Signals and Sisters with Scissors. Within their artistic practice, they created a sound installation on intimacies titled The Walls Have Your Ears and a short animation movie We Are All Mad Here, a fantasy trip into dealing with mental health.

During their residency, Bochra will focus on Tunisian queer and feminist living archives beginning with the 1980s, which marked the birth of the contemporary feminist movement within the Tunisian context — a movement that subsequently underwent multiple waves, transformations, evolutions, declines, and revivals.

Bochra has been invited by Moussem for this residency as part of a new collaboration between Nessij Collective (Tunis) and Moussem Nomadic Arts Centre (Belgium). This partnership aims to strengthen links between artistic scenes and support the development of shared practices.
