The first volume of 7seera و T9seera, consisting of three evenings, is structured around the phrase:
Anger, I flee from you; anger, I dwell in you
Each evening, a group of 15 people will gather around music, a topic of conversation and a tagine. The evening will be led by the group. For the last evening, participants are asked to bring music that reminds them of one of the key words from VOL.1 ‘anger, I flee from you, anger, you dwell in me’, and to reserve their place via this link.
Each participant is asked to choose at least two songs in any format (USB stick, CD, vinyl, etc.). If you only have the titles of the tracks and not the music itself, you can email the titles to photo.nalim@gmail.com by July 4 at the latest.
By listening collectively to the selected music and the conversations it provokes, a polyphonic playlist will emerge as a new story about anger (and, by extension, about words, sounds and collective emotions).
Practical information:
When: Saturday 5 July 2025
Doors: 5 p.m.
Address: Rue des Mégissiers 6, Anderlecht
Number of participants: 15
Reservation required (5 euros), via this link.
Programme for the evening: The evening begins with the preparation of a tagine, by cutting the vegetables together and gathering the vegetarian ingredients. The cooking time (1.5/2 hours) then determines the length of the conversations around the musical excerpts. The evening ends with a communal meal. Cosy anger.
The space consists of a series of colourful 7seera carpets, a small table and mobile tagines with their charcoal fires. A CD, MP3 and record player are connected to speakers with a mixing desk. We sit on the floor on the mats, with our shoes off, and chairs are also available for everyone's comfort.
Participants are asked to contribute 5 euros for the evening. The music and conversations will be recorded for a radio programme and podcast later in the year, in collaboration with the TUBA collective.
The three dates are Saturdays: 12 April, 14 June and 5 July. Participation is limited to one evening, so that everyone has the opportunity to be part of this special evening.
The working language is French.
Listening is an action that not only brings bodies close, but can dissolve separation. Because when we listen we participate in making the sound we attend to.
