Radouan Mriziga

7

Radouan Mriziga presents his new creation 7. Like in the solo 55 and trio 3600, the relation between dance, the act of constructing and the origin of an architecture and a sculpture plays a key role in this piece. Mriziga connects the moving body as measure and maker to the expression of architectural drawings and constructions.
In 7 Mriziga adds a layer of mystery and imagination to this relation, by calling upon the 7 world wonders of antiquity. These famous architectural and artistic achievements, of which only the pyramid of Gizeh is still standing erect today, mark the victory of man over his physical limits and the laws of nature. Each time period has its world ‘wonders’ – ideas of the impossible that get build anyway, each time higher and more impressive than what we know and have already seen.
But how wonderful remains that little human body, which imagines and realizes all this greatness? How endlessly more mysterious and beautiful than those giants with which we surround ourselves? In 7, Mriziga places 2 scales next to each other – the built world, made to impress, in opposition to the ultimate ‘world wonder’: the human body…
