ANOUAR BRAHEM

Quartet

music/jazz/world/flagey/ud

From his unique playing style and his remarkable compositional skills, it seems as if Tunisian oud master Anouar Brahem reinvented the ud, the Arabian lute. Anouar Brahem’s innovative approach merges traditional Arabian and modern music. Brahem has worked with musicians from all corners of the world and surrounded himself this time with clarinettist Klaus Gesing, bass-player Björn Meyer and Khaled Yassine on darbouka and bendir. Their last album, "The Astounding Eyes of Rita", pays homage to Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.
