Gen2020: MasterClass Sabri Saad El Hamus

Co-ordinated by 't ARSENAAL, the project brings together a number of companies, organisations and individuals from the Flemish theatre scene who are committed to supporting young performing arts talent from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, such as Zomer Van Antwerpen, Moussem and others. The focus is on artistic and (inter)cultural exchange between the artists, the sector and the public.
GEN2020 selected passionate actors, directors, playwrights and performing artists of all kinds for a two-year professional development programme (2012–2013). This consists of a series of joint masterclasses, each held with different companies or festivals, and an individual programme culminating in new productions.

The second masterclass will take place from 7 to 11 May 2012 at the Zomerfabriek in Antwerp. Around ten young actors and creators will be working with the Dutch-Egyptian director and actor Sabri Saad El Hamus, artistic director of the theatre company De Nieuwe Amsterdam and of the ITS DNA training programme.

To mark the end of this masterclass, there will be a public performance on Friday 11 May at 3.00 pm at the Zomerfabriek, Uitbreidingstraat 584, 2600 Berchem (Antwerp).
