Moussem participates in the Car Free Sunday in Anderlecht

21/09/25 13h30 - 18h00

The Car-Free Sunday is a festive event in Brussels, organized in Anderlecht by the Gilbard collective in collaboration with various other neighborhood organizations. This year, Moussem will be participating in this community celebration for the first time: to show what we do, to shave others share in it, but also to listen and tune into what is moving the neighborhood.

Our new Communities program focuses on arts education and socio-artistic projects with, for, and by youth or adults from the neighborhood. Rooted in Anderlecht, we want to make our artistic involvement visible in the public space and share our commitment with our neighbors and local partners. With art as the driving force, these active collaborations give rise to fresh collective stories, spontaneous encounters, new shared spaces, and lasting exchanges.

For Car-Free Sunday 2025, Moussem is setting up a literature and poetry stand with a reading corner, axed on socializing, multilingualism and imagination.

This ongoing activity will take place on September 21, 2025, in Liverpoolstraat from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will include:

  • Reading sessions in different native languages, led by women from the neighborhood, for children, young people, and parents.
  • A Kamishibai performance, inspired by the Japanese storytelling tradition.
  • A creative intentional movement workshop for young mothers and their babies, in collaboration with neighborhood organization Rézolution.

The exact program (with languages, accessibility, times, etc.) will be available on this page soon. Welcome!
